Que faire - rien à faire

Several marked walking trails start from the village; two of them (the red and the yellow) pass right in front of the house. A map showing the walks is available at the tourist office. You should definitely take the walk that leads to the village waterfall (take the path just before the bridge at the entrance to the village, opposite the tourist office).

We also recommend the walk that goes from the Notre Dame church to the Saint Joseph Monastery (about an hour and a half). These are sacred places closely linked to the history of Cotignac. The sanctuary of Notre Dame was founded following the apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1519. King Louis XIV came on pilgrimage at the beginning of 1660, and a few months later a second apparition took place, that of Saint Joseph. Following this new miraculous event, the Saint Joseph Monastery was founded on the very site of the apparition.

Our advice: plan your walk so that you arrive at the monastery at 5 p.m., allowing you to attend Vespers and listen to the Gregorian chants.
